The Drunkard's Hell
It was on one dark and starless night
I heard and saw an awful sight
The lighting flshed and the thunder roader roared
All around ther drunkard's feet
I started home to change my life
To see my long neglected wife
I found her kneeling by her bed
She said our darling girl is dead
I took her by her trembling hand
She was so weak she could not stand
On bended knee I prayed a prayer
That God might save and protect us there
Who preached like paul who once did say
Our sins have all been washed away
Let whiskey stay as far from me
As the mountain did from the deep blue sea
